News from Alabama Clergy Council, March 20051. The Alabama Clergy Council announces a new campaign to renew the promotion of the Ten Commandments. To encourage people to keep the Ten Commandments, we hope to put 20,000 bumper stickers on automobiles in Alabama. By placing a free bumper sticker on your car, you will be encouraging others to receive God's blessing by keeping his Commandments, and you will also be promoting the "Ten Commandments Movement." 5. HB75 - Political Advertising Disclosure Christian Coalition Elimination Bill #1 This bill was introduced by the gambling interests through State
Representative Randy Hinshaw with the obvious intent of silencing the
Christian Coalition of Alabama, the Eagle Forum and groups like the Alabama
Clergy Council. This bill would require non-profits to reveal their donors
if they engage in issue advocacy (protected by the First Amendment of U.S.
Constitution). The Christian Coalition has nothing to gain by opposing
gambling expansion - the gambling interest would gain millions of dollars.
The bill has passed the Alabama House of Representatives and now heads to
the Alabama Senate. This bill is similar to what the liberals tried to get
pasted the last year of the Clinton Administration to silence the Christian
organizations. Take Action - Contact your state senator or representative and ask
them to vote NO on this unconstitutional bill that targets the Christian
Coalition and other conservative groups. Contact information for members of Ala Legislature:
