Ron Sparks has been the Alabama Agricultural Commissioner for the past 8 years. Ron has proven himself to be a very shrewd politician. To win the Democrat nomination, Ron Sparks moved to the left of Congressman Artur Davis, and out Obama him. As Artur Davis was moving to the middle, Ron Sparks appealed to the core left wing polices of liberalism to gain the heart and sole support of the left. Congressman Davis voted against Obama Care Medical Plan, while Sparks openly supported it. With the support of one of the major black groups and Ron Sparks was able to pull off an upset win. He is now saddled with left wing positions and is viewed as being a main stream Obama in his philosophy and positions.

The voter guides of Conservative Christians and the Alabama Christian Coalition Voter Guides are often confused. In the days when John Giles headed up the Alabama Christian Coalition, the voter guides and stands on the issues of Conservative Christians was virtually identical. The national Christian Coalition and Pat Robertson have lost their creditability because of the weird stand they have taken on many issues. For example, last year Pat Robertson endorsed liberal Rudy Guiliauni for President, which was a shock to the conservative community. Then there was the famous Billion Dollar Bob Tax Plan in Alabama. The National Director of the Christian Coalition, Roberta Combs, came to Alabama and held a press conference to endorse this massive tax increase. Roberta Combs called this tax increase the "Christian thing to do". This was so unusual that even the Wall Street Journal made comments about it. Many people felt that Pat Robertson and Roberta Combs had lost their creditability, and their were many rumors that they would say anything for money.

Most yard signs or lawn signs in the past have been constructed from cardboard or coated paperboard of varying thickness, set onto a wood frame with either heavy-duty staples or nails with plastic washers. Since the late 1990s, corrugated plastic lawn signs have become more common for small to medium-sized campaigns. These lawn sign faces are constructed just like corrugated cardboard, with two outer sides sandwiching a series of flutes that give the yard sign structure and strength.

On January 18, 1778 Captain James Cook and his crew, while attempting to discover the Northwest Passage between Alaska and Asia, were surprised to find the Hawaiian islands so far north in the Pacific.[1] He named them the "Sandwich Islands". After the discovery by Cook, other Europeans and Americans came to the Sandwich Islands. An entry was found in James Cook's log describing the natives as "riding the ocean's waves on wooden boards", which became the first written account of surfing.
