What is the covenant, and why were the 10 Commandments put into the Ark of the Covenant?

What is a summary of the law and the prophets?

Is Love the fulfilling of the law?

Who has fulfilled the Law?

These questions can be answered by reading the following Scripture verses.


Deuteronomy 6:1-9
1   Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
2   That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
3   Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4   Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5   And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6   And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7   And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8   And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9   And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

God gave man the Commandments. Every one of them is vital, in all ages. For only by observing them can man live a full life each week; maintain a happy marriage; and function well in his home, his job, and even in the world internationally. Christian Ten Commandments
Leviticus 4:2
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
Ten Commandments Law

The Lord God Himself is the Root of the Moral Law, and perfectly reflects it. Salvation was never by the works of the Law. For even before the fall, man was to keep it out of gratitude for God’s great grace. Unfallen man kept the whole 10 Commandments. The Sabbath Day, Marriage, the Forbidden Fruit, and the Tree of Life all reveal it. When man broke God’s Law, he degenerated more and more—from the Fall to the Flood. The Patriarchs kept it, and the Prophets called man back to keep it. So, too, should we.

Christ never broke the moral law. He said He had not come to destroy but to finish building the Law, and that not one jot or tittle of it would ever fail until heaven and earth themselves pass away. (Matthew 5:17–18) Also subsequently, all His apostles taught it as well. So, too, did the Early Church Fathers, King Alfred, Luther, Calvin, and even the great Jurist Sir William Blackstone. It is the very basis of the United States of America, and also of every other Common Law nation in the world. True Christians Love to Keep God’s Moral Law. They shall always do so in Heaven. But all unsaved Law-breakers, will end up in Hell.
