In an act of anti-christian politically correct insanity, the Ole Miss student senate voted to remove one of the last vestiges of Christianity from their college and state. The Mississippi state flag incorporates the Confederate Battle Flag which is directly descended from the flag of Scotland and thus also St. Andrew’s Cross. St. Andrew’s Cross is one of the oldest Christian symbols and one of the few Christian symbols embraced by the Reformers and the Scottish Covenanters.

The necessity of tolerance always spoken of in these situations is a precursor to the subsequent oppression of those who are commanded to be tolerant by those who must be tolerated. Christianity and religious pluralism are inherently incompatible and any toleration between the two is impossible.

The scriptures forbid removing landmarks and other important reminders of history put in place by our ancestors.

Proverbs 22:28 “Remove not the ancient landmark, Which thy fathers have set.”

Proverbs 23:10 “Remove not the ancient landmark; And enter not into the fields of the fatherless:”

The application of these two similar proverbs is not limited to landmarks only but includes practices and symbols established by our forefathers to remind us of our Christian faith and redemption. St. Andrew’s Cross reminds us of Christ’s redeeming work on the cross for His elect.

Andrew the Apostle and St. Andrew's Cross

Andrew was believed to have been a missionary to Asia Minor and Greece, and was reportedly crucified by the Romans on an x-shaped cross at Patras, in 69 AD, as he did not feel worthy to be crucified on a cross like Christ was. http://scotshistoryonline.co.uk/saltire/saltire.html

Therefore the Confederate Battle Flag was an explicitly Christian symbol chosen by the founders of the Confederate States of America who wanted to insure that their nation was a Christian nation where Christianity would flourish. The Constitution of the Confederate States of America, while similar to the U.S. Constitution on which it was based, had one important distinction and superior quality to the U.S. Constitution. While the U.S. Constitution never mentions God, the CSA Constitution mentions God in the preamble.

Third National Flag of the Confederate States of America

We, the people of the Confederate States, each State acting in its sovereign and independent character, in order to form a permanent federal government, establish justice, insure domestic tranquillity, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity — invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God — do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Confederate States of America.

The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution which is similar to that of the CSA does not contain the vital phrase inserted by the CSA Constitution “invoking the favor and guidance of Almighty God.”

Thus, by voting to remove the symbols of our Christian heritage, the Ole Miss students are saying in effect that they do not want to be associated with what our Christian ancestors considered to be a vitally important symbol of our Christian faith. The students claimed that the flag made some students feel unwelcome. However, if the current descent of society into atheism and non-Christian religions continues, it will be those with similar beliefs to current Ole Miss students which would still likely profess to be Christians who will be made to feel unwelcome. It is always and only the true religion which is oppressed once true toleration of religious pluralism and thus intolerance of Christianity is implemented.

  1. the confederates supported slavery … slavery is not Christian. This has nothing to do with Christian symbols as hardly anyone sees every X shape as a Christian symbol. The confederate flag represents slavery and insurrection
